What is Net For Schools?
Online Resource- A window into the Internet:
It is a portal or window into the huge number of resources which are to be found on the Internet. There is a lot of information on the internet that is free and should be made available to teachers and students as an education resource. Net for Schools provides a way into this information and resources for your six schools.
Teaching ideas- A place for storing and sharing good teaching ideas:
It is also a place for storing and sharing electronic teaching ideas that have been created by the teachers of your schools, or which have been found by you through the use of the internet. These teaching ideas and activities can be stored within this site and shared by the teaching staff in all schools.
Our Schools- A network to connect all six schools:
The site connects all of the six schools which can access the site in order that you can share ideas, information and resources. Each school has its own page with information and images of the school and the school community. These pages each contain a School Blog for uploading recent projects and activities which can be used like an online Magazine.
Pupils page: A site for the students as well.
It is also a page for the students of the school. On the pupils page there are links to kids education sites with information, games and activities.

Through the site the you can find resources on the internet which:
• use computers to teach your subjects
• search for lesson resources
• access up to date subject information
All of which will help you with planning lessons.
Why was it made?
- Firstly, the site has been developed following requests from your teaching staff for training in the use of the internet and computers as an educational tool. You now have internet connection and a good quality suite of computers which can be used to access the net and for educational material. It therefore hopes to overcome the difficulty that your schools have with access to updated information and teaching ideas and resources.
- Secondly, It serves as a storage site for good teaching ideas and information about training, so that incoming teachers can access the information, and outgoing teachers can share their good work.
- Thirdly, your School Blog allows you to showcase the good work that you are doing in your schools, and the aspects of your school that you feel most proud of so that others can see what you are doing.
